Thanks to community member “onion” for the meme theme suggestion! Clippy was a character made for various Microsoft products from 1997 to 2007, made to be an office assistant to help those on the computer. Although Clippy was one of many different characters that could embody this assistant, they were the default character and thus is the most remembered! Clippy only really lives on in Microsoft 365 now, as due to a Microsoft tweet asking for 20,000 likes, they’ve replaced the default paperclip emoji with this lil’ guy! Although a lot of people found discontent with their suggestions and being defaulted to being on, this little paperclip remains an icon for late 90s and early naughts computer users. So let a bit of nostalgia wave over you as you waste your time with these funny Clippy memes!
