Dr. Who shocked its audience, who was expecting the end of Jodie Whitaker’s run as the doctor to introduce Ncuti Gatwa as the long-running series’ 14th regeneration. Instead, David Tennant appeared, officially returning as Dr. Who after playing the 10th regeneration of the character. Not to be taken out of the running, Gatwa has officially been named the 15th Dr., and will likely take the mantle after a special three-episode run for Tennant at the end of 2023.
